The Cougars improved to 7-1-3 overall and 3-0-1 in league play with the victory.
Rio Grande slipped to 1-7-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the RSC as a result of the loss.

RIO GRANDE, Ohio – University of Rio Grande men's basketball head coach Ryan Arrowood has announced the addition of five players to the RedStorm varsity roster for the 2022-23 season.
The newcomers include the freshman quartet of Aiden Porter, Trey Robertson, Trent Hundley and Kaden Warner, as well as fifth-year senior transfer Mike Cody.

RIO GRANDE, Ohio – The University of Rio Grande started fast and never let up.
The RedStorm scored the first nine points of the night and went on to post a 3-0 (25-12, 25-16, 26-24) victory over West Virginia University-Tech, Tuesday night, in River States Conference women's volleyball play at the Newt Oliver Arena.
Rio Grande improved to 9-7 overall and 3-2 in league play with the win – its fifth in the last seven outings – and avenged a five-set non-conference loss to the Golden Bears at home in early September as part of the Emileigh Jo Cooper Memorial Classic.
WVU-Tech fell to 5-15 overall and 2-3 in the RSC with the loss.

DANIELS, W.Va. – Freshman Rodrigo Portilla carded back-to-back rounds of 2-over par 74 and finished in a tie for second place following Tuesday's final round of the Golden Bear Classic hosted by West Virginia University-Tech at the Glade Springs Resort's Cobb Course.
Portilla, a native of Sevilla, Spain, finished in a deadlock with WVU-Tech's Bryson Beaver, two strokes in back of Indiana University Kokomo's Corbin Robinson (+2–146).
Rio Grande had two others who finished in the Top 10.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The University of Rio Grande women posted a fifth place finish and two of its representatives earned all-tournament honors at the Ohio Bowling Conference No. 1 Tournament, which wrapped up its two-day run last Sunday at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace.
The RedStorm took down 5,716 pins as a team in the tournament, which consisted of four rounds of team competition and 16 rounds of Baker games.
Meanwhile, junior Sydney Dickson (Newark, OH) and junior Caitlyn Moody (Xenia, OH) grabbed a spot on the all-tourney team by virtue of their second and fifth place outings, respectively, in the field of 85 competitors.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Reece Collins posted a third-place finish and earned all-tournament honors, leading the University of Rio Grande men to a fifth-place showing in the Ohio Bowling Conference No. 1 Tournament, which concluded its two-day run last Sunday at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace.
Collins, a senior from Columbus, Ohio, toppled 828 pins over four games for a 207 average and finished 36 points behind champion Britton Hole from the University of Northwestern Ohio in the field of 148 participants.
Collins also had the RedStorm's top individual game of the tournament, rolling a 246 in game three.
