    BEAVERCREEK, Ohio – The University of Rio Grande men's bowling team posted a 17th place finish in the University of Pikeville's Orange & Black Classic, which completed its two-day run on Sunday at BeaverVu Bowl.
    The RedStorm toppled 7,188 pins over the course of five team games and 16 baker contest in the 23-team competition.
    The top eight teams after team and backer play broke into a single-elimination bracket to decide a champion, with third-seeded Lawrence Tech knocking off the top-seeded and host University of Pikeville in the title match.

[Women’s Bowling] Moody leads Rio women at Orange & Black Invite

    DAYTON, Ohio – Caity Moody and Emma Peruzzi posted Top 10 finishes, leading the University of Rio Grande women's bowling team to an eighth place finish in the University of Pikeville's Orange & Black Classic, which wrapped up Sunday at Poelking Lanes South.
    Moody, a sophomore from Xenia, Ohio, took down 952 pins over five games, including a high of 218 in game five, for an average of 190.4 and a third-place finish, while Peruzzi – a freshman from Columbus, Ohio – toppled 895 pins over five game for an average of 179 and an eighth-place showing.

    RIO GRANDE, Ohio – Gabriel Silva recorded a hat trick and the University of Rio Grande's defensive effort remained downright stingy as the RedStorm rolled Asbury University, 4-0, in non-conference men's soccer action, Saturday night, at Evan E. Davis Field.
    Freshman Diego Martinez (Santiago Chile) added three assists for the RedStorm (9-2-1), who ran their unbeaten streak to seven straight games with a fifth consecutive shutout win.
    Rio Grande outshot the Eagles, 29-1, and has allowed the opposition just one shot over its past two outings.

    RIO GRANDE, Ohio – The bad news was that the University of Rio Grande women's soccer team saw its four-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday evening.
    But when all was said and done, the good news was that the RedStorm now find themselves in the midst of a five-game unbeaten streak.
    An own goal allowed visiting Asbury University to erase a second half deficit and the two teams played to a 1-1 draw in non-conference play at Evan E. Davis Field.

[Men’s Rugby] No. 9 Rio bounces Big Red

    RIO GRANDE, Ohio – The University of Rio Grande spotted Denison University an early lead, but then proceeded to deliver a big beatdown to the Big Red.
    Finn Tomlin and Devon Scriber had two successful tries each and four other players added a score of their own as the RedStorm cruised to a 50-3 victory, Saturday afternoon, in men's rugby action at Red Valley Pitch.
    The RedStorm, who earlier in the week earned a No. 9 ranking in the Small Schools Division of National Collegiate Rugby's Top 25 poll, improved to 4-0 with the win.
    Denison slipped to 1-3 with the loss.

[Volleyball] Grenadiers put down Rio rally

    NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Indiana University Southeast bolted to a quick lead, but had to quell a spirited comeback attempt by the University of Rio Grande to post a 3-1 triumph over the RedStorm, Saturday afternoon, in River States Conference volleyball action at the Student Activities Building.
    The Grenadiers improved to 10-8 overall and 6-2 in conference play with a 25-15, 25-15, 14-25, 27-25 victory.
    Rio Grande dropped to 5-11 overall and 3-5 in league play with a fifth straight loss. The RedStorm also fell to 0-6 in road contests with the setback.

[Volleyball] Eagles rally to drop RedStorm

    MIDWAY, Ky. – Midway University regained its early momentum with a late third set rally and then held on down the stretch in set four, posting a 3-1 win (25-15, 19-25, 25-19, 25-22) over the University of Rio Grande, Friday night, in River States Conference women's volleyball play at Marshall Gymnasium.
    The Eagles won for the 11th time in 13 outings overall and for the fifth time in seven conference matches.
    Rio Grande suffered a fourth straight loss, falling to 5-10 overall and 3-4 in the RSC.

[Men’s Cross Country] Booth takes first at Royals XC Challenge

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. – University of Rio Grande senior Cody Booth ran to the championship of the Men's Blue Division in Friday's Royals Cross Country Challenge, hosted by Queens University at McAlpine Park.
    Booth (New Philadelphia, OH) finished the 8k course in a time of 24:41, which was 37 seconds quicker than runner-up Carter Mckenna of Davis & Elkins (WV).
    The event featured 25 teams and 188 individual runners.
