This course covers a variety of managerial concepts, including the role of management in health care, leadership styles, leadership competencies, ethical responsibility, management and motivation, organizational behavior, strategic planning, marketing, quality improvement, information technology, financing health care and health insurance, financial management, managing health care professionals, cultural proficiency, health care law, fraud and abuse. This course will provide students with a broad knowledge of the many components of health care administration that will be further developed in subsequent HCA courses.
