Information Technology – Network Systems
Mission Statement
The mission of the Information Technology – Networks Systems degree is to prepare students for careers dealing with network systems analysis, planning, and implementation. Students will gain the necessary skills to analyze network system needs for design, installation, maintenance, and management of network systems. Skills acquired will assist students to obtain computer hardware and network certifications.
This degree will prepare the student to find employment as a:
- Network Specialist
- Network Operations Analyst
- Communications Analyst
- Network Analyst
- Network Administration
- Network Maintenance and Operations
- Hardware Support/Maintenance Network Administrator
- Customer Service Coordinator
- Hardware Installations Coordinator
- Network Technician
Learning Outcomes
The successful student will be able to:
- Manage, maintain, troubleshoot, install and configure basic network infrastructure devices.
- Select, install, manage, and troubleshoot server hardware and network operating systems, and manage clients on these systems.
- Maintain and update a website.
Information Technology – Network Systems is a two-year technical program leading to an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Information Technology.
Job Opportunities
A limited number of paid internships are available from local employers. AAS Information Technology – Network Systems graduates will be qualified for such jobs as Network Security Specialist, Local Area Network Technician, Hardware Support/Maintenance, Network Administrator, Telecommunications Technician, and Wireless Network Technician.
